Cons Medicine Locum at Lismore

Specialist Palliative Medicine covering hospital, community, and clinics. Supervision and training of Junior Medical Officers required.

Lismore Base Hospital is a regional referral Level 5 base hospital with state-of-the-art operating theatre suite, ICU/CCU, imaging, Cardiac Cath Lab and most major specialties and subspecialties. The Lismore Base Hospital Emergency Department is a comprehensive level 5 Emergency Department and is the designated Trauma Centre for Northern NSW with on-site roof top helipad as part of our Retrieval Service.

The Palliative Care service supports patients with a progressive, life-limiting illness to help maintain the best quality of life. Community Palliative Care Nurses and multi-disciplinary team including social workers, help patients monitor pain symptoms and offer support for end of life care in collaboration with the patient’s treating Specialist and GP.

We are looking for an experienced Specialist Palliative Medicine who will cover the hospital, and community as well as any scheduled clinics.

The Specialist will work 0800-1700hours each day with on call overnight as rostered. They will be required to provide daily ward round, attend any emergencies and the ED. Participation in the on call roster is required. There may be scheduled clinics.

Supervision and training of Junior Medical Officers is a requirement.

Standard daily rate is $2500 per day (24hour period) all-inclusive as per NSW Health capped rates. We will provide basic accommodation/allowance, hire car and reimburse reasonable travel.

Please ensure any locum presented for our consideration is job ready and has current NSW working with children clearance, national criminal record clearance and has completed all mandatory training modules including eMR and eMEDS prior to commencement.

Please provide all credentialing and onboarding documents including clearances and training certificates.

Current NSW Working with Children Clearance and National Criminal Record Clearance must be provided prior to commencement.
