Moree Hospital is a level 3 facility. The main referral hospital is Tamworth - utilised if patients are requiring a higher level of assessment, treatment and care
The ED receives 35-60 presentations daily. ED has 4 beds and an upright assessment chair. Doctor is required to be onsite whilst there are presentations in the ED.
The departments are staffed by a solo GP VMO. At any given time, there are rostered GP VMOs (a mixture of local and locums) in the following areas- ED, Anaesthetics, Surgery and Obstetrics. The VMOs are often specialty trained and ARE REQUIRED TO WORK ACROSS TWO CLINICAL AREAS FOR eg. ED & Anaesthetics.
Accommodation provided in either the new onsite pods (self-contained one-bedroom apartments) or the Albert Motel
