About this role

Hospital in the Home (HITH) / Infectious Diseases / General Medicine-type ambulatory care: medical reviews in HITH clinics, prescribing and charting medications, following up pathology and imaging, and coordinating multidisciplinary care

An exciting opportunity exists for a PGY3 or above doctor to join the Hospital in the Home (HITH) team at Lismore Base Hospital. This is a Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (1hr unpaid meal break) position with no after-hours, on-call or weekend commitments.

The role includes conducting medical reviews in HITH clinics, prescribing and charting medications, following up pathology and imaging results, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team to support patients receiving acute hospital-level care in their own homes.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a supportive Staff Specialist with a strong interest in medical education, providing an excellent opportunity to develop skills in ambulatory and community-based acute medicine. Previous General Medicine experience is highly regarded but not essential."

There is a possibility of extension - please advise if interested in extending past end date.
