- The General Medicine Registrar is responsible for the initial assessment and provision of ongoing care to patients.
- They will communicate appropriately with the Admitting Medical Officer and other members of the health care team.
- While the General Medicine Registrar has a high degree of autonomy, the ultimate responsibility and decision making regarding patient care lies with the Admitting Medical Officers. This role is based in the Close Observation Unit and also covers inpatient wards of the hospital.
